Happy New Year!

Aww, Minneapolis canceled its New Year's Eve fireworks because of lack of attendance. The other celebrations around the city don't really appeal to me. Either they're in a suburb that's hard to get to, are designed for people with 7 year olds in tow, or cost $80+ to get in. And I'm not paying $80 to drink, stand around, and yell "Woooooo!" at 11:59pm. For that kind of money, I require a concert at least. :-p

I was visiting friends in the Canadian Maritimes in honour of New Year's. As it happened, the fireworks were cancelled there because of high winds and the end of a blizzard! Funny enough, we can always watch fireworks on tv from different parts of the world so not seeing these in person wasn't really a disappointment.

Eek! I can definitely understand their canceling it. No need to set the whole town on fire.

Yup, I ended up watching the New Year's Eve celebration in NYC on TV. And larger cities (Sydney, Las Vegas, London, etc.) always have fabulous celebrations. :D
