During my ride yesterday, I went across the Midtown Greenway again. The Midtown Greenway is a length of walking and bicycle trails that cut through the city and go east-west from the Mississippi River to the western suburbs where it connects to another trail that leads outside the city. For the most part, it's not a very scenic route so I never bothered to take pictures of it. It's just a trail that goes under a lot of bridges. Its selling point is that it's fast and you don't have to stop every 1/8 mile at an intersection.

I'd never gone all the way east on it before. I tried once a couple of years ago but it was still under construction then. I decided to try again yesterday and discovered what this bridge's actual purpose was. (It's part of the greenway.) I'd seen it before but always from the perspective of a car traveling underneath. Until now, I always thought it had something to do with the light rail transit that goes from downtown to the Mall of America. Guess not.
