The Day I Caused Bunny Death

Last night, I ran a few errands. Thanks to my father, I didn't have to walk through the frigid cold spell that Minnesota (and most of the country) is in. Nothing really exciting. A quick trip to the library to get new books and a quick trip to Target to replace my Wii (It was not the 'My Fitness Coach' disc that was acting up. It was the console itself.) and get new socks. I didn't really think about the socks I bought until I got home. For those who don't know, I'm vegan for animal rights reasons. I make every attempt to not buy any products that are made from animals. That includes leather, wool, and, of course, fur. It wasn't until I got home that I looked at the label. "Angora Knee High Socks".

'Wait,' I thought. 'Isn't angora wool?'
I flipped the label over and read. Rayon. Nylon. Polyester.
'Ah, crap. Wool.' And, then, my eyes rested on the final ingredient. 15% rabbit hair.
"Ah, crap!" I yelled. "I'm helping to torture bunnies. Cute, fuzzy bunnies!"

Sorry, bunnies. :(

No, your not torturing the bunnies by wearing angora. The sheep aren't killed for wool either. It's a lot better for the environment than synthetics made from oil.
When bunnies shed their hair it is like a blizzard. Far worse than when a dog sheds. Other than that, bunnies are great pets.
