April 2, 2010 - A Virtual Bus Ride

A virtual bus ride through part of downtown Minneapolis and near the West Bank. Taken April 1, 2010. Sorry about the shakiness. The bus was old and creaky. :-D

How about a virtual train ride? Love your Minneapolis posts!

Nokohaha - I've thought about doing one while on the LRT but I so rarely ride it. It's definitely a smoother ride, though! Thanks!

I enjoyed that!
You might remember that I lived in Rochester for 3 years during my residency at Mayo. I made enough little trips to the cities that they hold a special place in my memories and heart. It was nice to virtually visit!

Minneapolis is the first place where I ever saw bridges connecting buildings in the downtown area. I think other cities copied that.

Ferd - Yeah, I think Minneapolis was the first place to use skyways. Or at least one of the first. I was watching a different 'virtual bus ride' along Hennepin Avenue in downtown. One of the Youtube commenters said Minneapolis looked like a ghost town because there were few pedestrians. It is quieter than Chicago and NYC but, almost everybody walks along Nicollet Avenue or uses the skyways.
