April 4, 2010 - Wood Lake Nature Center

I decided to wander around Wood Lake Nature Center this afternoon. The park has walking trails that border a small marsh and a boardwalk that cuts through the center of the water. As I walked out onto the boardwalk, it bounced up and down with each step. My mind began composing my next blog entry.

Dear Diary, Today sucked. The boardwalk at Wood Lake collapsed. And, now, I'm drenched.

Luckily, that didn't happen. :-D

It's never really busy there. A few people passed by, a few couples and one larger group. A slender woman sat on the bench in the play area. But, for the most part, I had the park to myself.

Every now and then, the park board
hosts educational lectures here.

I am just loving these exporations of the areas around where you live. They are a real treat to read and see every day. Thank you!

I'm a bad friend. I haven't stopped by in a while. I see you have the explorer bug again, and that's great!

The park looks like a great place. I am imagining it with leaves on the trees. You might have to make another picture stop later in the summer.

Another thing... the new look to your blog. It's really nice!!! I liked the old one, too, but this has a sort of explorer theme to it. When did you change it?

I'll be back, K.

Andrew - Thanks! :)

Ferd - Ah, don't worry about it. You were busy and I had slowed down on blogging for months.

Yeah, it definitely looks a bit nicer in July.

Actually, I was looking for a new theme because I was bored with the old one. Then, about a week ago, an efriend mentioned that he was playing with Blogger's new Template Designer on http://draft.blogger.com (which I love). I pieced this template together from there. I LOVE the background picture. :) Curious about where it's from, though. It looks like Asian writing on one sign but the people look more Arabic.
