The Power of Cheese Compels Me

I fully intended to go out to somewhere interesting today. The Museum of Russian Art and The Mill City Museum are both high on my to-do list. And, for once, the weather was actually cooperating. But, my sleep has been scattered the past few nights. Around 10 this morning, I realized it would be better to just conk out in the bed and not move for as long as possible. When I finally woke up around 5pm, it was too late to really do anything.

I succeeded at veganism for about a year. From February 2009 to February or March of this year. Around then, I just couldn’t do it anymore.
I wanted cheese! Glorious cheese. I wanted a huge platter of various cheeses selected from around the world and to eat it all in one sitting. I didn’t go quite that far but, on occasion, I will get a cheese pizza. And, lately, I’ve been craving omelets. Going vegetarian was easy for me since I was never crazy about meat to begin with. (And I'm still vegetarian.) But, cutting out eggs and cheese (2 of my favorite foods) was difficult.

And, so, tonight, I found myself at Denny’s staring down a veggie-cheese omelet. If I could find a vegan substitute to eggs, I would make one myself. Sorry, chickens and cows. I’m sure I’ll find my way back to the land of veganism soon.
