Amigurumi Fail

I've been trying to teach myself how to crochet from a few books I own. I'm not really interested in making clothes. It was when I first saw amigurumi, knitted or crocheted toys, that I decided I must learn how to do it.

Love the bunny and two cats!
It was easy to figure out how to work in straight rows. But most amigurumi requires you to work 'in the round' or in circles. I tried for hours to figure out how to do it and simply couldn't get the hang of it. But, thanks to tutorials on YouTube, I finally got it today.

Yay! I win the round. (no pun intended)
So I crocheted this stuffed heart from a pattern I found on Lion Brand Yarn's website. Sadly, it turned out lopsided. But, it was my first effort at working with rounds so I'm not going to angst about it. And it was good practice.

I think I missed a round when I was doing the shorter side. So, yeah, it's a learning experience!
