Public Half-Nudity and The Unicorn of Lake Nokomis

Best movie quote ever: "Mummy, mummy! A naked American man stole my balloons." ~American Werewolf in London

This afternoon, I went on a bike ride (I'm sure you're shocked) around Lake Nokomis. About halfway around, I turned my head and saw a guy walking three poodles. There's a part of my brain that turns into a 5 year-old kid whenever I see anything that's cute. It was this part of my brain that saw the poodles and thought, 'Yay! Doggies!' and smiled at the dogs.
But, then, I noticed the other part of the equation: The guy. He was in a speedo and nothing else. Now, you have to understand, I'm a prude when it comes to anything approaching public nudity. Simply seeing a male who isn't wearing a shirt will make me a little uncomfortable. So, when he turned his head and looked at me, horror and confusion paralyzed my brain.
'Nonono! I was looking at the dooooggies, not you!' I thought as I giggled and looked away. And I thought that was the end of that.

But, as I sped down the trail, I noticed something else out of the corner of my eye.
'Yay, a new sculpture!' I thought. I pulled my camera out and started to frame the photo. But, wait! What was this? Walking toward me was the guy in the speedo and his three dogs.
'Nonono! I was taking pictures of the unicorn, not you!' I thought as I quickly snapped the picture below and ran away on my bicycle.

This was not here last summer.

Today was awkward.

Side note: I'm not making fun of the guy. It was completely appropriate to be near a lake with a beach in a swimsuit. I'm making fun of my hyper-prudishness.

Ok, I'm not a prude but seeing a guy walking around in a Speedo would freak me out too!

As long as I don't see ya, I don't care what you do. :D
