The Wobbling Cat

Well, drats. I didn't neeed something to write about that badly. The day before yesterday, I looked at my cat and realized she couldn't walk on her back legs. That sent me into a panic, terrified of a diagnosis of leukemia or something equally horrible. I don't deal well with pet deaths or illnesses. When my last cat died, I sobbed for three days straight, almost non-stop. And I am not a super-emotional person. So, within a few hours, we were at the vet where they did bloodwork and sent her home with some pain medication.

The pain medications seem to be working. Or maybe it's the de-matting they also did. Either way, she can get up and down the stairs but she can't really jump onto things. I think this is something that gradually came on. A few years ago, she was able to jump on the counter and, then, onto a pantry-type closet that's in the kitchen. She hasn't been able to do that in awhile. Arthritis? That'd make sense in a 17 year-old cat. Poor kitty!

My worst nightmare would be something happening health wise to Maggie. I harbor your same sentiments and concern.

I might be a little heartbroken if something happens to Maggie too!
