K, I am really glad you quit, for several reasons. I'm glad you'll be saving money. I'm really glad your health is and will be better for it. And I'm glad you are not a slave to it anymore. Quitting an addiction frees up time and resources for other things.

BTW, the smell of cigarettes in a place and on people does bother me. I could be a good friend to a smoker, but I could not live with one.

And your heightened sense of smell will also let you appreciate good things, like the smell of Spring for example.

At least that is how I look at it as for I too have lost countless pets. And still have 9 cats now.

Around our house, we have a group of deer regularly visit our back yard. They'll eat all of a plant if it's something they eat, especially in the winter when they don't have enough food in the wild. So we have to think about what attracts birds but does not attract deer when we plant stuff.
